Rejuvenating Hangover Smoothie

As I've gotten older I've noticed that my body handles a hangover very differently than when I was in my 20's. I used to be able to take two advil with a gatorade, then consume a greasy cheeseburger and I would be good to go! Now I feel like my hangover recovery takes a few days. I also am more conscious and try to be healthier these days, so a smoothie is a much better for those post wine nights with the girls.

Whats in the smoothie and why?
Banana
= Bananas are brimming with potassium and one of the best natural sources of vitamin B6. A study printed in the Journal of Annals of Nutrition showed that vitamin B6 can reduce hangover symptoms by as much as 50%!

Blueberries = Blueberries are an all natural whole food that can help improve a compromised immune system.

Oats = Oats are packed with vitamins and minerals that neutralize acids in the body and also help to regulate your blood sugar level to give your body a bit of an energy boost.

Coconut Water = Contains electrolytes and anti-oxidants that are key to any hangover recovery. Anti-oxidants essentially help to repair your body from damage.

Honey = Research has shown that fructose digestion competes with alcohol and will force your body to rid itself of the remaining alcohol faster. You know what honey is mostly made up of? ...fructose.

Greek Yogurt = Yogurt is easy on the stomach and is a good source of potassium that helps to get rid of bloat.

1 cup frozen blueberries
1 banana
1 tablespoon oats
1 tsp honey
1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
1/2 cup coconut water

Mix all ingredients in blender. Blend, pour and drink up!
