1/2 cup water
1/2 cup milk
1 banana
1 cup frozen mango
1/2 cup frozen blueberries

Mix all ingredients in blender. Blend, pour and enjoy!

There are so many milk alternatives out there now for people with dairy allergies or for those who just plain don't like milk. One of the newest milk alternative is Flax Milk. There are many benefits that can come with drinking Flax Milk. First and foremost for those that are allergic or not tolerant to milk, Flax Milk is naturally lactose free and is also a great alternative for those allergic to soy. *Flax Milk ingredients is free from the top 8 allergens including gluten. It also contains zero cholesterol which makes it a heart healthy drink!

Typically flax milk doesn't contain protein. The Flax Milk I used for this smoothie has added protein. For an extra boost of protein I also included peanut butter and a scoop of chocolate protein mix which makes this a great pre or post workout smoothie!

1 cup Flax Milk (I used Good Karma Flax Milk + Protein
1 banana
1 scoop of your favorite chocolate protein mix (I used VEGA Protein & Greens chocolate
2 tbs. peanut butter
handful ice cubes

*Be sure to check the Flax Milk you purchase to make sure it is free from allergens if you have an allergy concern.

Chocolate Flax Milk Smoothie + Protein

This smoothie is just plain fun...it was fun to make, fun to see my kids faces when I handed it to them and fun for them to drink! Its colorful, its sprinkle-y and topped with whip cream!! I did make one mistake when I whipped this baby up which was that I made it for my kids right before I was about to leave dad in charge. I may have gotten those kiddos a little sugared up for dad night. Whoopsie!

O well, I've learned my lesson. Now lets make this smoothie!

Before I blended my smoothie I wanted to sprinkle up that glass. You just need to wet a paper towel and rub it on the outside rim of the glass so that the glass edge is damp. Next, lay out a dry paper towel on the counter, then pour out a good amount of sprinkles on that paper towel. Grab your glass and roll the damp outside rim of the glass on the paper towel with the sprinkles and roll it around until the whole rim is covered in sprinkles. Since it's wet the sprinkles should stick right on. When you are done rimming the glasses you can put any remaining unused sprinkles back in the bottle.

Next you will want to blend the smoothies. I wanted to make mine two layers, so to do that you will need to make each flavor separately. Once they are both made I decide which layer seems to be the thickest and that one gets poured in the glass first. Then I pour on the next layer for a two different color smoothie.

Once the smoothie layers were in, I topped mine with whip cream for a bonus layer of fun. Feel free to omit this step, maybe if you are about to leave your children with someone else for the day :)

If you are one to admit to watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians you have probably seen Kourtney Kardashian eating her Avocado Pudding. I love avocados so I decided I needed to try this one. Avocados are super nutritious and there are many benefits you get from adding them to your diet. They are loaded with healthy fats and are chock full of important nutrients. Adding avocados to your diet is shown to help improve the look of your hair and skin...some of those benefits include minimizing fine lines, shiny hair and helping to control acne. If you want to read more about the benefits of avocado you can check out this article. With all that being said I think you really need to love avocados to enjoy this recipe, it is definitely an acquired taste. :) If you love avocados this will be your jam! Full recipe below.

1 whole organic avocado
1 cup organic coconut milk (it was whole milk before she became dairy free)
2 tsp. honey, preferably Manuka honey (honey optional)

Mix all ingredients in your blender then pour into short glass and eat with a spoon.

My two boys love their superheroes and lately Iron Man is the favorite. They were so excited to see this smoothie and it was super easy to create!

Mix the Red Ingredients together in the blender, then pour the mixture in your cups. Next mix together the Gold Ingredients and pour them on top of the Red. It helps to have these smoothies thick if you want to have it two toned, so just add more ice to give it extra staying power! If your kids are like mine the two colors will be mixed together within 5 seconds anyway so it's ok if it doesn't turn out perfect...it is still DELICIOUS!

RED INGREDIENTS
1 cup Orange Juice
1 cup Frozen Strawberries

GOLD INGREDIENTS
1 Banana
1 Cup Almond Milk
1 tbs Peanut Butter

Handful of ice cubes

Mix all ingredients in blender. Blend, pour and enjoy!
